Give Gable the crown!

Chad Gable NEEDS to win the King of the Ring final against Baron Corbin.

PERIOD.

Chad Gable is the closest thing that the WWE has had to Kurt Angle since, well, Kurt Angle. A win over Corbin in the final would be the start to a push that Gable has deserved for some time now.

I have this feeling in my gut that Vince McMahon wants to give the crown to Corbin so he can run with the “King” gimmick for the foreseeable future.

This needs to not happen. Corbin has been on quite the run. He was in the main event scene against Seth Rollins during his first run with the Universal Title and defeated some pretty good competition during the King of the Ring.

Corbin defeated the Miz in the opening round, Cedric Alexander in the second, and in the semi-final, he defeated Samoa Joe and Ricochet in a triple threat.

Gable hasn’t had an easy road either, beating the likes of Apollo Crews, Andrade, and THE BEST IN THE WORLD Shane McMahon on his way to the final.

Heading into this new era of Smackdown Live over on Fox, WWE needs to create stars that the crowd will have no trouble getting behind. I’ve been calling for a Gable mid card push for a while now, I even wanted him to get a shot at the Cruiserweight Title during his brief stint on 205 Live.

We have seen what Corbin can do in the main event scene, and any scene for that matter, and it isn’t much of anything. Do I think Corbin is the worst professional wrestler on the planet? No. Do I think that Corbin has a future in the WWE? Yes.

However, Chad Gable has yet to be given a real chance to do anything since being split from his former tag partner Jason Jordan, and this is the perfect opportunity to give him that chance.

The King of the Ring final will take place during tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

WWE, please don’t screw this up.
